Chepelare Municipality is in Central Rodopi Mountains, on the upper stream of Chepelarska River, at 1150m average above sea level height. Chepelare is 230km away from Sofia, 80km away from Plovdiv and 10km away from Pamporovo, the famous Bulgarian ski resort.

If you like skiing, this is the place for you. The house is only 100m south of the children ski track always lit up in the evening.

Chepelare is famous for its ski course the longest in the Balkans. Its name is Mechi Chal and it starts just 2km out of town.

Mechi Chal 1, the Alpine branch, is 3150m long and Mechi Chal 2, the tourist, one, is 5250 long.

There is also a 3000m ski race course.

Courses are serviced by a two-seated lift which takes 17 min, and has a capacity of 700 tourists at a time.

Near the town there is a 5 km biathlon course.

If you prefer it, you can go skiing in Pamporovo which is only 10km away. Roads here are well maintained in the whole winter season.

Bulgaria's single ski factory, Orion, is also here. It has recently started producting ski-boots too. In the factory shop you can find a rich variety of ski, ski-boots, ski-equipment and accessories at prices you can afford. The shop is right next to the factory on the left turning from the way to Pamporovo where Chepelare begins.
